Antonine's Wall shares similarities with the longer Hadrian's Wall to its south. They both were of stone foundation on earthen berms and featured a large ditch in front to impede any direct assault. They both had regular fortifications staggered along their length with a leveled road connecting the component structures. However, unlike the northern Antonine Wall, Hadrian's Wall included more fortifications made of stone for the ramparts, garrisons, and watchtowers. This means Hadrian's Wall is the better preserved of the two after centuries of weathering.
